About Dr ambrose
Dr Ambrose joined The Blackrock Clinic as an Adolescent and Adult Rheumatologist and Adult General Internal Medicine Physician in June 2018.
As a General Physician and Rheumatologist she sees patients with a wide range of general medical and Rheumatological problems.
Her clinical and research interests include Adolescent and Young Adult Rheumatology, Behçet’s Syndrome, Hypermobility and Chronic Pain, Osteoporosis as well as SLE and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Medical training and clinical experience
Dr Ambrose graduated from Trinity College Dublin and undertook most of her clinical training in Dublin.
She was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians Ireland and subsequently a Fellowship from Arthritis Research UK to undertake a PhD at Imperial College London.
Her PhD was awarded for research into in Behçet’s Syndrome.
She then moved to University College London Hospital (UCLH) in London in 2013 to undertake a Fellowship in Adolescent Rheumatology.
She completed her training in 2014, gaining a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine.
She worked as a consultant at UCLH from 2014 to May 2018. She was clinical lead of Adolescent rheumatology during this time. She undertook regular adolescent and young adult clinics, a weekly SLE /myositis clinic and a weekly hypermobility/ chronic pain clinic in addition to general rheumatology services within the department.
