Symptoms may include joint pain, tenderness, stiffness, locking, and sometimes an effusion. The mainstay of treatment is exercise, physiotherapy and weight control. Anti-inflammatory tablets and paracetamol also have a role. There is evidence that joint injections can be beneficial in some patients.
